Memorial Day Service

11:30 AM

In honor of the more than 95 deceased veterans buried at Saint John’s, a prayer service and military salute will be held at the cemetery.

All are welcome to attend the annual Memorial Day Service at Saint John's Abbey Cemetery honoring all who had served in the United States military and are buried at Saint John's: 46 parishioners, 40 monks, and 12 from the Alumni and Friends cemetery section. The parish of Saint John the Baptist leads the event. Fr. Greg Miller, OSB, will lead the prayer service.

The service includes prayer, a roll call of honor, and the Saint John's Legion Honor Guard will provide the traditional military salute. Throughout the Memorial Day weekend, small American flags will be in place at each of these grave sites.

The Veterans' Honor Roll is on the Saint John's Abbey Cemetery website if you are interested in viewing it:
