Rev. Dr. Neal Lawrence OSB died in Japan on 3 November 2004.He was a member of Trinity Benedictine Monastery in Fujimi (Nagano) and Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota, U.S.A. 

A memorial mass was celebrated at Meguro Catholic Church in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17.
