Brother Herard Jean-Noel OSB
Brother Herard comes from the islands, a native of Anse-a-Foleur, Haiti. He made his profession as a Benedictine monk on 8 December 1993.
Brother Herard was voted "most popular teacher" at the end of an internship in Florida for his master's degree in education. With a ready smile and a flair of drama, he taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in the Saint John's Preparatory School. In summer 2007 Brother Herard began service as an administrative assistant to Prior Thomas Andert OSB.
Among his confreres he has a reputation of being a jack-of-all-trades, and he spent his spring break constructing furniture.
