Father Mark Thamert OSB
Father Mark, a native of Owatonna, Minnesota, entered the monastery in 1973 and was ordained in 1979. While combining teaching and graduate studies at Princeton University, he was named "Teacher of the Year."
Currently a faculty resident living in a dorm among the SJU students and a professor teaching German in the Modern Language Department, Fr. Mark regularly escorts groups of undergrads on study abroad programs in Germany, Italy and Austria. He also served a term as Head of School at the Saint John's Preparatory School.
