Benedictine monks observe golden and silver jubilees of priestly ordination, 2003

COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. — The monks of Saint John's Abbey mentioned below mark either 25 or 50 years of priestly ordination. During the annual private retreat at Collegeville, the monks will recognize the jubilarians at a concelebrated liturgy on Thursday, 5 June, at 11:15 a.m.

50 Years Ordained

John Patrick McDarby OSB
Father Pat McDarby was born in Auburn, Indiana, on 10 December 1927. He professed first monastic vows on 11 July 1947, and he was ordained a priest on 24 May 1953. Retired from teaching English in the university, Father Pat edits the abbey's internal newsletter, Confrere.

25 Years Ordained

Dunstan Robert Moorse OSB
Father Dunstan was born in Marshall, Minnesota, on 8 December 1950. He professed monastic vows on 11 July 1974 and was ordained a priest on 13 May 1978. Fr. Dunstan serves as an editor at the Liturgical Press.
