Benedictine monks celebrate 60 and 50 years since profession of vows

COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. Thirteen monks of Saint John's Abbey mark a Jubilee commemorating their profession of vows. The monastery celebrated with them at a festive liturgy on Sunday, 11 July 2004, the Solemnity of Saint Benedict, Patriarch of Western Monasticsim. Two monks celebrate 60 years, six monks celebrate 50 years and five monks celebrate 25 years.

Brother Francis Peters OSB
Brother Francis was born in Monticello, Minnesota, on 30 January 1923. He professed monastic vows on 11 July 1944.
Father Bartholomew Sayles OSB
Father Bartholomew was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 24 April 1918. He professed monastic vows on 11 July 1944 and was ordained a priest on 5 June 1948.

Brother Andre John Bennett OSB
Brother Andre was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on 26 February 1930. He professed monastic vows on 25 April 1954.
Father Roger Botz OSB
Born in Freeport, Minnesota, on 10 December 1933, Father Roger professed vows on 11 July 1954. He was ordained a priest on 4 June 1960.
Father Eugene McGlothlin OSB
Father Eugene was born in Faulkton, South Dakota, on 8 June 1932. He professed vows on 11 July 1954 and was ordained a priest on 4 June 1960.
Father Kieran Nolan OSB
Father Kieran was born in New York City, New York, on 20 August 1933. He professed vows on 11 July 1954 and was ordained a priest on 19 September 1959.
Father Raymond Pedrizetti OSB
Born in Duluth, Minnesota, on 30 August 1930, Father Raymond professed vows on 11 July 1954. He was ordained a priest on 7 June 1958.
Father Chrysostom Kim OSB
Father Chrysostom was born in Taegu, Korea, on 16 March 1927. He professed vows on 11 July 1954 and was ordained a priest on 4 June 1960.
