Four Young Men Profess First Vows

COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. — On September 14 four novices made their first profession of vows during a ceremony at 4:00 PM.

Brother Stephen Warzecha

Born and raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Stephen Warzecha was a former seminarian studying for the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis. He attended both St. John Vianney Seminary and St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2007 with a BA in philosophy and a minor in theology. Prior to entering the seminary, he had a career as a computer consultant for 21 years. He enjoys reading, music, motorcycles, and photography. His most recent vocational calling brought him back to St. Cloud and to Saint John's Abbey. Here he hopes to complete his master of divinity degree and ordination to the priesthood. After simple vows, he will be continuing his theological studies at Saint John's School of Theology.Seminary. He will also be working as the Residence Life Assistant in Campus Ministry at Saint John's University. Stephen is 46 years old.

Brother Nickolas Kleespie

Nickolas Kleespie is from Morris, Minnesota, where his parents, Bill and Sue, are members of Assumption parish. He has four siblings: Melissa Sherod, Justin Kleespie, Andrea Nygaard (Seth), and Nate Kleespie (Tera). He graduated in 2002 from Morris Area High School, and then from Saint John's University, Collegeville, in 2006 with a major in music education. He served with the Saint John's Benedictine Volunteer Corps at St. Maurus Hanga Abbey, Tanzania, Africa. He has worked for the Saint John's Boys' Choir, Saint John's University Campus Ministry, and as a Saint John's University faculty resident. After profession he will be working as the Associate Executive Director of the St. John's Boys' Choir and taking classes at Saint John's School of Theology.Seminary. Nickolas is 27 years old.

Brother Michael-Leonard Hahn

Michael-Leonard Hahn grew up in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, where he attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and where his family parish is Sacred Heart Church. He later attended Benilde-St. Margaret's High School. After graduating from Saint John's University in 2005, he taught at Saint Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey for three years. His most recent teaching appointment before becoming a monk of Saint John's Abbey was at Cathedral High School in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. After profession Michael-Leonard will be teaching in the Undergraduate Theology Program and taking classes at Saint John's School of Theology.Seminary. He is 27 years old.

Brother Lewis Grobe

Lewis Grobe grew up in Orono, Minnesota, and graduated from Saint John's University in 2006 with majors in the humanities and German. After graduation, he accepted a one-year stint with the Fulbright Fellowship in Germany as a teaching assistant. Following his stay in Germany, he traveled to Tanzania, Africa, to teach and fundraise with the Saint John's Benedictine Volunteer Corps. Upon his return to Saint John's, he has most recently been employed as an admission representative for the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. After profession he will be working for the sustainability office at Saint John's University and taking classes at Saint John's School of Theology.Seminary. Lewis is 27 years old.
