Death Notice
Early in the morning, July 4, 2009, Father James Tingerthal OSB, 74, died peacefully at Saint Cloud Hospital supported by the presence and prayers of confreres and family. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and professed first monastic vows, July 11, 1951.
On Monday, July 6, the monks receive the body of Father James at 7 p.m. in the baptistry of Saint John's Abbey Church. Night Prayer concludes the vigil, 9 p.m. Monks, family and friends will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 7, 3:30 p.m.
