A Sense of Place
Sense of place depends on a shared environment, a shared history, but most of all on a community of people who live and work together.
Since its founding, Saint John's Abbey has been guided by the Benedictine principles of stability, hospitality, and stewardship. Saint John's Arboretum encompasses over 2500 acres settled by Benedictine monks in 1864. Using the labor of their hands, monks and lay workers built a lasting testament to our vow of stability and the ancient practice of stewardship of the land.
Saint John’s Abbey Woodworking is part of that community of dedicated Benedictine monks and lay people. As an extension of our sacred work of prayer and study, we are committed to producing high quality, handcrafted furniture for our own use and for our clients.
