Saint John’s Abbey Volunteer Program
Position: Driver on-call
Number of persons needed: 10
Department: Saint John’s Abbey Transportation
Brief Summary of Assignment: Take Abbey members who are unable to drive to and from appointments and social engagements
Time Commitment: Be available for half-day or full day (8 am – 5 pm usually) according to the preference of the volunteer. The volunteer would be called ahead of time about the schedule for the day.
Responsibilities: To take monks to and from appointments. Need to be able to assist some monks in and out of the car. The volunteer will usually use his or her own car.
Skills and Qualifications: A good driver with current driver’s license and current car insurance.

Location, working space, equipment, etc.: Own car. A volunteer driver must provide a copy of his/her current driver’s license and car insurance documents to the coordinator of the Volunteer Program. The volunteer will complete the “on-line” driver safety course at no cost to the volunteer.
