All Souls Day
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed" (or “All Souls Day”)
The monks of Saint John’s Abbey invite all that would like to attend to join them to pray for the deceased at 11:45 a.m. on this day. The gathering site for the prayer service is the Saint John’s Abbey Cemetery in the area in front of the large granite cross in the monks section.
Parking is available at the cemetery, or you may walk up using the poplar-lined walkway in the cemetery. Scripture, prayer and psalms will be followed by readings of the names of those deceased monks, alumni/friends, and parish members who have passed away and who have had interment at Saint John’s since last November 2nd. There is also a time of quiet reflection for all those attending to speak aloud the names of their departed family members and friends to be included in this day of prayer and remembrance.
If you cannot make it to Saint John’s for this special event, please join us in thought/prayer wherever you may be.
